Integration of IoT for Effective Monitoring of Heat Temperature

TF-AMD has to embrace I4.0 to ensure the quality of products manufactured meets and exceeds the customers’ expectations. E&E industry players should look at I.40 as an investment and something that should not be avoided. There are so many benefits and advantages that can be gained from conducting I4.0-based initiatives such as the IoT project in TF-AMD. We have successfully implemented a system that allows our ovens’ heat temperature to be monitored in real time thus increasing our product cycle time by 95% and reduced the reject rate to approximately 5%. Furthermore, this initiative also helps the staff to be more accountable of their actions and improved overall productivity to another level. Neoh Soon Ee, Managing Director, TF AMD Microelectronics (Penang) Sdn. Bhd.

Connecting the Dots - Shifting Digital Business Landscape with E-Commerce

As part of the team who built Shopee Malaysia from ground up, watching this company grow to where it is today in just four years to be the number one e-commerce platform in the country is phenomenal. Shopee’s success is attributed to the team’s hard work, perseverance and persistence despite facing different setbacks and challenges along the way. It is also the strong support from our brands, partners and the Government who form the backbone of our company, and most importantly, the trust and believe Malaysians have for us as users of the platform. We will continue to bring engaging and social experiences, and ensure that our consumers, sellers and businesses can enjoy the benefits of e-commerce even as they grow with us in this digital era. Ian Ho, Regional Managing Director, Shopee

Business Reduction due to the Lack of Effective Management

Prior to its success in the bakery industry, ZBAC business operations went downhill for a time due to several reasons, mainly on poor inventory management. At that time, the raw materials were purchased without a solid business plan, there were no set sales targets and no proper recording system. Due to its hastiness in obtaining bulk materials at a low price from the supplier, ZBAC did not perform the proper due diligence which eventually caused the warehouse to be filled with plenty of unused materials.

360-degree Transformation of a Local Bakery Operation through Lean Initiatives

ZBAC is highly dependent on the buying trend data and LEAN initiative as they help to increase productivity and determine the stock purchase while reducing wastages in the production area. Other than that, one of our greatest achievements is being able to change the local eating habit from the staple breakfast dish, such as nasi minyak and nasi dagang, to our high quality bakery goods. Given the dynamic growth of food trends in Malaysia, we figured that now is the perfect time to establish our contemporary café brand in the local market scene. Suzana Salleh, Managing Director, Ziq Bakery and Cakes (ZBAC)
