Novartis Malaysia embarks on improving internal work process to achieve its sparkling productivity record. For a big company, simplification is extremely complex as it has to cut down so many layers of bureaucracy. Hence, Novartis Malaysia began iSimplify in 2016 by asking the employees to take ownership of simplification, and everyone has to do his or her part.

The Quest to Simplify Work Processes

“Many employees complain about increasing bureaucracy in their respective companies but few manage to tackle the issue. At Novartis Malaysia, we are happy that we found a solution for this problem through our iSimplify initiative. The initiative simplified at least 83 processes and our target is to simplify 100 processes by end of this year.” Dr Joshi Venugopal, President & Managing Director, Novartis Malaysia.

Agilent has an open-door policy. All employees have direct access to all the managers. There are free to share their ideas, voice their concerns or speak out on new things they feel are not aligned to the company.
