As a vendor in the telecommunications industry, the aim of this company has always been to provide quality fiber optic installation and maintenance services to our anchor company clients. This is a key strategy in growing our business as a result of the trust that our anchor clients provide. Our involvement in the PPKV programme has exposed all our employees to the need to improve work efficiency, which in turn can eliminate waste and bring much improvement in service quality. Close guidance from MPC is one of the main factors in the success of this business enhancement project, as well as the support by MEDAC as the project’s key funder. In addition, the initiative to develop our own system using own funds has greatly helped the company in increasing productivity in various aspects of the business. We will continue to make sustained improvements because we believe that this effort can increase the company’s sales, which have already been felt since the implementation of PPKV.

"The primary objective of the Quality Enviroment (QE(5S)) implementation is to provide a conducive environment for the staff at the warehouse. As a material handling manufacturer, the daily tasks revolve around the usage of heavy duty materials and equipment that are risky and might cause harm if it is not properly conducted by the staff. Hence, TMP initiated an informal QE(5S) practice among the staff to reduce the tendency of the accidents. Years later, after TMP was chosen by MPC to join the SPPE program, QE(5S) is finally being formally practised to yield the best output for the business operation. MPC has guided us step-by-step on the implementation which benefited us the most with its impacts. The project demonstrates a significant difference in the work processes at the warehouse where it reduces the finding time to look for documents and tools at the rack, besides allowing the staff to properly utilise the warehouse space. LEAN menunjukkan keberkesanan dalam pelaksanaan Prosedur Operasi Standard (SOP) dalam operasi perniagaan TLP. Penetapan SOP bertujuan untuk memastikan operasi perniagaan dijalankan secara konsisten dan teratur.

LEAN is a systematic approach that helps the management of an organisation to identify and eliminate the non-value activities that could lead to inefficient business processes. Over and above that, waste that have been around for a long time can be eliminated in the workplace due to unproductive and inefficient work culture. The LEAN project in TLP started in August 2019 and was successfully completed a year later. Normally, any of SPPE project only takes six months to finish, however, the TLP project took 12 months due to the enforcement of the Movement Control Order in the country on 18 March 2020, to curb the spread of COVID-19.
