Recognising Productivity Champions for productivity enhancement at firm level

10 May 2016 : A total of 20 experts and institutions had been recognised by Malaysia Productivity Corporation as the productivity champions for their efforts in implementing productivity initiatives at the workplace. Sharing the experiences on this achievement, Puan Nor Laila from the Malaysian Timber Industry Board (MTIB) agreed that LEAN has benefited MTIB’s companies in terms of maximising workforce utilisation and waste reduction.

Best Practices Sharing through International Conference on Public Sector Productivity

10 August 2016 : The CEO of City of Melville, Western Australia, Dr. Shayne Silcox urged that innovation is the way to remain relevant and to provide effective and efficient public service delivery. During his presentation, he further explained that about 25 percent of time is spent on not working on any tasks, such as sick leaves or arriving late to work. In this regards, eliminating waste at work is required for continuous improvement.

Sharing of Best Practices on Modernising Business Licensing (MBL) initiative

1 September 2016 : Two officers from Raub District Council and Pekan District Council shared their best practices in speeding up the process of business license approvals. Both of the presenters agreed that this initiative has allowed the business community to be able to conduct their transactions and activities more productively and easily, thereby leading to reductions in business costs.

Reducing composite waste – Initiative towards improving process efficiency (2016)

Composite material is one of important elements in manufacturing of aircraft components. Carbon Fibre Reinforced Polymer (CFRP) has been the main type of composite material used in CTRM. With the introduction of new ply cutting process, CTRM has benefited over RM4 million of cost saving and reduces material waste to landfill by two tons annually.
