A Comprehensive Safety System for Safety Assurance
They have an established Emergency Response Plan (ERP) and Risk Analysis Management System (RAMS) in place, where all these systems are implemented in all of their programmes and activities. All programme activities, Maverick has set a better than average trainer-to-participant ratio where every 10 persons in a group would be equipped with one trained guide or trainer regardless of how big a group is.

Changing The Challenging Norms
Farm Fresh was determined to change that norm by supplying several batches of genuine fresh milk using any available transport, even a commercial bus at one time, to the retailers. Both Mr Loi and Encik Azmi realised the need to have a strong branding awareness and educate the public on the benefits of consuming genuine fresh milk. They created various aggressive promotional cum educational campaigns on fresh milk, mostly on social media to attract the young generations to consume fresh milk for a healthier diet.

A Milky Fresh Beginning on a Local Farm
Becoming the main manufacturer of a product without a sustainable ecosystem is not an easy feat. However, we saw a huge potential in producing our own milk and conducting a thorough deep market research of the local dairy industry to identify and resolve any issues that could impede our progress. In time, we were able to expand our farm, the number of cows, our staff and finally bring Farm Fresh brand to become a national-level product. We have also invested in several cold rooms and temperature-controlled vehicles to ensure Farm Fresh milk retains its freshness when shipped to the market shelf. To maintain our competitive edge, we have our own R&D unit to develop more products every year. Since we are dealing with resources from live beings, the welfore of our 5,000 genetically modified cows is extremely crucial and has to constantly be at optimal level. Executing an Effective Farm Management at LK Farming
When Tan took over the running of the farm from his father in 2000, he sought to make LKF’s layer farming method environment-friendly. Tan switched from the open house caged to the closed house system in 2003 to enhance cleanliness, reduce odour, and provide a healthy egg-laying environment.There are eight pullets and 35 poultry layer houses at the farm. LKF obtains its stock of 1-day old chicks from reputable local suppliers who practice ethical hatching and rearing methods. Every chick is vaccinated upon arrival and placed in pre-heated pullet houses.

Prioritising Risk Management to Ensure Participants’ Safety
KJOS believes in providing the best services to its customers is the best policy, hence there is a particular Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) that the safety crew needs to follow to ensure the recreational activities are conducted in a smooth manner. Each guide and participant are required to adhere to the SOP before, during and after every outdoor activity to minimise the risk of unwanted accidents. The SOP is one of the contributing factors that allows KJOS to be certified by the MaTEX which fueled them to go even further. Local operators who passed the MaTEX Business Certification Programme are granted the MaTEX certificate that displays their level of competency and excellence, and also sanctioned to be promoted on international level once all the compliance standards are fulfilled.
