A chance encounter with food waste in the back alley of a restaurant in Victoria Street, Penang, left Calvin Chan Yi Xuan pondering about the incident for a long time afterwards. The smell of baked goods wafting through the air, even after being binned, piqued his curiosity as well as that of his partner's. Crossing Borders, Together!
One other practice that Monitor ERP has introduced to its Malaysian subsidiary is of non-hierarchical communication between management and employees, which is used to facilitate problem-solving. In this situation, discussions are full and frank, and everyone is able to comment and come up with ideas within the group in order to find the best possible solutions to problems. Then there is the Swedish practice of Fika, which is a break during work at which they all gather to drink coffee or tea and chat about whatever comes to mind. As they need to get new employees up and running fast, they feel like there is no better way than being able to ask questions whenever they arise.

Exterminating Pests Globally with Anticimex
Leveraging on its repertoire as a globally renowned brand, the Anticimex Group entered the Malaysian market in 2017 - further cementing its ASEAN presence. The Group laid the groundwork with the acquisition of a home-grown pest control company known as DC Hygiene (now known as Anticimex), due to its coverage and growth potential in Malaysia. The acquisition strategy bodes well for Anticimex, as a way to expand their business into new, international markets such as Malaysia. By securing a local company in the same industry, it expedites the learning curve and allows for better market penetration.

Less Energy, More Coolness
Malaysia recorded an average temperature of 28°C until a maximum of 34°C which led to an extensive usage of air-conditioners in various premises such as offices, malls, restaurants, hotels, convention centres and houses. As those areas continue to expand, the demand for air-conditioners increases as well in order to achieve optimal comfort for the users. It is quite common to find the conventional galvanised iron (GI) duct in most buildings. However, in recent years, more people are starting to realise the benefits of changing into fabric ducting system, mainly due to its highly efficient cool airflow distribution and the cost-saving concept. Fabric Ducting System is one of the solutions that was developed and derived from the latest technology in an effort to maximise cool air distribution from air-conditioners.
